The year 2020 was one of the hardest years we’ve experienced in our careers. Dealing with all these cancellations and the seemingly endless uncertainty, not knowing when our business can get back to full swing has been a very tough mental challenge for us. But now at the end of the year we got a huge recognition for our years of hard work when we were awarded the Rangefinder Rising Stars of Wedding Photography award. This came at the exactly right time for us, when we needed a pick me up the most. Making us more determent than ever to keep at this, not giving up and keep documenting stories of love up here in the cold north.
The Rangefinder Rising Stars award is one of the most prestigious awards in our business and something we’ve only dared to dream about since we started our career as wedding photographers. Every year the New York based photography magazine Rangefinder picks 30 photographers from around the globe that “show promise in taking the aesthetics of wedding photography to new places. Visionaries today, they are the educators and mentors of the future.”

This is a nomination based award and leading industry taste makers and professionals nominate wedding photographers from around the world they think deserve this recognition. Once a photographer gets nominated he submits 30 images that represent his signature as a wedding photographer. A panel of judges than goes through the hundreds of submissions and picks the 30 Rising Stars each year.
Many of our greatest role models and heroes in the wedding photography world have been the recipients of this award in the past and to join their ranks now is a huge honour for us.
