We shot this wedding almost a year ago and it's still very special to us. It represents everything we love about our job. Traveling to distant, off the beaten track places, meeting genuine, awesome people and being accepted by a group of total strangers as one of their own and last but not least absolutely breathtaking skies. This all started with a ferry ride to the island of Flatey in the west of Iceland. This small island has only about 5 year round habitants but a lot more during summer. All the houses are very old and beautifully restored so when your feet hit the old harbour it's like stepping back in time. There Ásgeir and Ragna greeted us with their families and showered us with hospitality and friendliness that didn't stop the whole three days we spent with them. They then lead the whole group of wedding guests after the only road on the island to a tiny village were this adventure continued with all it's quirky island traditions (one including a red coat and a tractor) history lessons, seafood so fresh that it was just in the sea a few minutes before, sunsets, storm clouds and one hell of a party long in to the night.
