Vast landscapes & endless freedom during a pandemic

Here is a little love story in the middle of a pandemic. It takes us all the way from south of Spain in a lockdown to wandering freely around lava fields just below the arctic circle.

Brigi & Bianka had planned for a wedding with their loved ones in Spain where they live but like for so many other couples this year the pandemic got in the way. Instead of canceling completely they saw an opportunity in combining their honeymoon with an elopement with just the two of them. The destination was Iceland, which at the time was open to travellers and one of the safest spots in Europe during the pandemic.

So they journeyed to the far north for love and freedom. We helped them plan a laid back elopement day in the arctic summer, mostly spent getting lost in beautiful landscapes up and down the south coast of Iceland.

“Finishing the day with a champagne shower right under the mighty Skógafoss waterfall.”

They had their tiny ceremony under a waterfall, with an officiant from the humanist association and read their tear jerking vows to each other. We then travelled together to some of the most awe inspiring landscapes Iceland has to offer. Exploring canyons, carefully treading on hidden pathways through moss covered lava fields, a make out session on a black sand beach, an afternoon stroll high on top of sea cliffs and finishing the day with a champagne shower right under the mighty Skógafoss waterfall at dusk.

It felt so good to be able to help these two beautiful souls create some good memories in times where they seem so few and far between.
