Reykjanes Honeymoon // Anders & Sara

Wind, tears and adventures in late summer. It was a pretty typical August day when we met up with Anders & Sara at the bottom of a hill in the Reykjanes peninsula. The wind came in gusts from no particular direction, making ripples in the tall grass and the sun warmed us when it wasn’t hiding behind a growing cover of clouds.

Anders & Sara were just coming from their wedding in Norway where they live and we were coming from a hectic wedding season pumped with inspiration. It’s interesting but we seem to take some of our favourite work in late summer and fall when we have been shooting pretty non-stop for months.

One half of Sara’s family is Icelandic and Anders is from the north of Norway so they felt right at home in the chilly Icelandic summer. We spent an evening together roaming the many landscapes of Reykjanes, exploring lighthouses, scrambling down to rocky beaches, wandering around steaming lava fields and then finally watching the sun disappear behind the mountains from a windy cliffside.

The connection between these two beautiful creatures was apparent and hanging out with them was like meeting old friends again after a long separation.

Our couple shoots are some of our favourite shoots, where we make friends out of complete strangers in an evening, while showing them our favourite corners of our home.
